Some of my earliest memories are of my mom reading picture books to me as a toddler. I thought it was amazing that these weird lines and shapes could make such amazing stories. Endlessly fascinated, I always asked Mom to read more.

As I grew older, and various things occurred in my childhood, reading not only became an escape, but a haven. The strife and struggles of the characters I read about was, to me, much more tolerable than facing the ones in my own life. I became so immersed in these stories that I would quite literally adopt aspects of them into my life.

As I entered my early teens, I wanted to create some of these worlds for myself – heavily inspired by the ones I held so dear. I knew creating worlds and crafting stories was something I wanted to do. I didn’t know how, but I knew I was going to write stories one day.

As my love for reading and literature deepened, I was drawn towards another dream – a college education. A dream that my beloved grandfather fostered and encouraged. I attended university, studying English with a specialization in Writing, and my appreciation for those wordsmiths of old turned to awe and motivation.

Sadly, my grandfather passed away before I graduated, but I was able to honor him at my graduation ceremony by wearing one of his tie clips.

I married a strong, loving, and intelligent man. We embarked on a new adventure when we moved to another state, attended university, spent time with friends, worked multiple jobs, and endured much hardship and heartache together. He’s the rock and backbone of our little family – my treasured man forever.

Now, after all the ups and downs, hurrays and woes that I’ve experienced, it’s finally time for me to pick up my pen and write the stories that have been on my heart for years.

Welcome, friends.
